PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma
PRP for Hair Regrowth
PRP is concentrated blood plasma that is comprised of a higher concentration of platelets than what is found in normal circulating blood.
The plasma also contains several growth factors and bioactive proteins that can assist and benefit wound healing. Recent studies have shown that PRP can be an effective treatment for male and female pattern baldness. The process involves a small sample of the patient’s blood. The blood sample is placed in a centrifuge for a few minutes. The blood is then ready to be injected into the areas of baldness. This is followed by a micro needling treatment. Once the blood has been injected, the body reacts as it does to a wound and starts to immediately repair the tissue. The underlying tissue now has increased blood flow that makes the hair grow. The treatment is completely natural so there are no side effects. Improvement can be seen in 6-8 weeks. The treatments do need to be repeated at 6-8 week intervals.
For the best results, approximately 2- 3 treatments would be needed with an annual maintenance treatment.
A PRP facelift is a great non-surgical option for natural and radiant look. Injecting PRP into the face helps stimulate collagen, healthy tissue growth and new blood vessels for a healthy glow. The process involves a blood sample from the patient’s arm. The blood is placed in a centrifuge for about 10 minutes to extract the platelets, stem cells and growth factors. The Plasma is injected into areas of the face along with fillers to create a natural, more youthful look.
A PRP facial is a micro needling treatment using PRP. When PRP is used with micro needling it is able to penetrate the skin though channels created by the micro needling pen. With PRP increases the wound healing response creating heathy tissue and increased collagen. This is an ideal treatment for skin rejuvenation and improvement of fine lines. It can also improve dark under eye circles, acne scarring and scars. PRP and micro needling can be an alternative to laser treatments for patients that may not be good candidates for laser. All areas of the face and body can be treated safely with the PRP facial.
The treatment starts with a small blood sample that is placed in a centrifuge for about 10 minutes. The platelet rich plasma is applied to the skin with the micro needling treatment. The treatment can be repeated for continued improvement.
